Good morning, Wycombe!

It’s the Wycombe Pulse, barrelling into December next week like nobody’s business. Michael Bublé has officially defrosted, Mariah is powering up, and my daughter has been cast as a camel in the school nativity. Naturally.

This week brings a mix of festive fun and non-Santa-related goodness.

Some highlights:

  • Huge town meeting 🦢

  • Stories with Father Christmas 🎅🏻

  • A stunning choral concert at All Saints 🎼

Plus a cracking new comedy night, carol concerts galore, Christmas markets, a panto, men’s mental health workshop and much more.

They’re running events throughout this week and into December. Find out more and book your spot via Eventbrite:

Business News

🎬 Marlow Film Studios is Approved

The long-debated Marlow Film Studios application has officially been approved by the Secretary of State. While the project has been somewhat controversial locally — particularly around traffic and countryside concerns — it also brings significant opportunities for our area.

The studios are expected to create new training routes, apprenticeships and creative career paths for local young people.

But beyond that, it’s a major investment in our region and could have a huge impact beyond just the film industry.

🍻 New owners for The Antelope & The Three Tuns

Both pubs have been snapped up by community pub operator Admiral Taverns in a wider 21-pub sell-off by RedCat Hospitality.

Admiral says both venues fit its mission to champion “great community pubs” as it grows its national footprint.

(Though apparently… news to The Antelope 😬)
