Where in Wycombe am I?

What happened at Popps on Frogmoor? And why is the signage still there?

Last week’s answer: I was at the Disraeli Monument on Tinker’s Hill. It’s a memorial to Isaac Disraeli, the esteemed scholar and father of Benjamin Disraeli, the renowned Victorian Prime Minister. Commissioned in 1862 by Mary Anne, Benjamin’s wife, it was a surprise gift to her husband.

You’ll enjoy some amazing views from the monument on a clear day, and you can actually spot Hughenden Manor — their former home — nestled about a mile away. It’s a lovely walk if you’re coming from that direction!

We took the shorter route through Little Tinker’s Wood in Downley to get there, and it was a beautiful stroll through nature.
