It’s the Wycombe Pulse, sliding into your inbox like the last rays of summer sunshine. The evenings might be drawing in and school shoes are making their annual comeback — but fun in Wycombe is still going full steam ahead.

A brand-new Beginner Ballroom & Latin Dance Group kicks off on Wednesday 10th September, running for 7 weeks at Downley Old School Community Centre (7.30–8.20pm).

You’ll cover all the classics including – waltz, quickstep, foxtrot, cha cha cha, rumba, jive, plus some sequence session – in a relaxed, friendly group. Perfect if you’re a complete beginner or haven’t danced in years and want to refresh the basics.

🔪 Pride, Prejudice… and Murder?

Opening night of Death Comes to Pemberley at the Wycombe Swan had it all:

• Darcy being dashing ✅

• Elizabeth being brilliant ✅

• Wickham being… well, Wickham ✅

• Oh, and a dead body in the woods 👀

It’s Austen meets Agatha Christie — fast-paced, funny in places, and full of twists. Add in a clever set, live piano, and some standout performances (special shout-out to Todd Boyce’s darkly witty magistrate) and you’ve got a Regency romp worth catching.

From Thursday 28th to Monday 31st August, Bucks Culture Open Weekend is back – a four-day celebration of creativity across the county! With over 50 events themed around stories and nature, you can dip into everything from tree-drawing workshops and circus-opera mashups to storytelling trails, music, dance, photography and more.

• Snake Stories at Milton’s Cottage, Chalfont St Giles on today at 11am — hear all about Milton’s “infernal serpent” from Paradise Lost, listen to snake stories and help create a serpentic ceramic installation 🐍
