Where in Wycombe Am I?
Where might you find this historic poster showing the tolls payable by the Victorian market traders in the area?

Last week’s answer: I was on the new(ish) cycle path linking Bassetsbury Lane with London Road at the pedestrian crossing near Lidl. Have you spotted the handwritten poster strapped to a tree on the path marking the crash site of a de Havilland Mosquito plane? It crashed here in 1944 on a return mission from Normandy after the pilot became disorientated in the low cloud. Anyone interested in aviation history will likely know that a huge majority of all the Mosquito aircrafts’ structural components were actually made in High Wycombe during the Second World War at the furniture factories our town was famous for. I wonder if there’s much appetite to have a more official commemoration for the crash, especially given the town’s relationship to the Mosquito…
