Business News

The Eden Centre have just announced an amazing initiative: the Startup to Store competition.

One lucky local start-up business will be given a chance to win a unit in the Eden Centre, completely free for 6 months.

You need to be:

  • local to High Wycombe

  • have a business that’s been established for over a year

After you’ve applied online, the Eden team and a panel of judges will review all entrants and invite those successful through to the second round in a Dragon’s Den style interview.

This is an incredible opportunity for a local business and we encourage you to apply if you think a physical presence will give your business the boost it needs. Good luck! 😉

Where in Wycombe Am I?

What’s the history of this striking building?

Last week’s answer: I was standing in front of The Wheatsheaf at 2/3 High Street. This is a former inn and coffee house with a beautiful timber frame that has been dated all the way back to 1399, making it the oldest secular building in Wycombe. It was recently repaired and restored by Buckinghamshire Historic Buildings Trust (completed in 2022) after standing empty for a long time. Since its restoration, it has seen life as a cocktail bar and has been used for a temporary exhibition but is empty now once again — it would be amazing for it to become a community hub again, perhaps with permanent exhibition space on the upper floors showcasing the culture and heritage of the town. What would you like to see in the building?
