Christmas Market Highlights πŸŽ„

When I decided to include a section on upcoming Christmas markets, I really had no idea just how many there would be. Turns out, High Wycombe is the Vienna of the Home Counties with a staggering number of festive markets every single weekend (and a few weekdays) from now into December.

So as not to make this section an unwieldy mess, I've picked out a few from the highlight reel that look to have the widest appeal. We'll include the others in the normal weekly round-ups going forward too so hopefully no one misses out.

But here's a peek at a few we're most excited by...

Non-Christmas Markets

Sports and Activities

Something new for the little ones…

  • Teeny Medleys - the brilliant Medley School of Dance are starting 'Teeny Medley' classes from January 2025. These will include 'Teeny Steps' for ages 1-2.5; 'Teeny Mix' for ages 2.5-4 which is a mix of ballet, modern and tap in one class; and 'Teeny Tutus', which is the new name of their existing pre-school ballet programme (2.5-4 years). They’re taking bookings now.

Do you run a sports team/fitness activity and are looking for players/new joiners/spectators for upcoming fixtures or practices? Please email me at [email protected] with the details if you'd like to be featured.

Business News

It's all happening on Frogmoor right now.

Popular Brazilian steakhouse Caipirao has reopened under new owners. It's the same menu with some new additions, including a pizza buffet every Tuesday.

And a brand new burger place called Beef Guys has just opened, promising some exciting dishes like smoked brisket, slow cooked ribs and red tikka donner meat. Is anyone else salivating...?

Where in Wycombe am I?

Last week's answer: I was at Desborough Castle hill fort, found just off Rutland Avenue in Castlefield. The site can be dated back to the late Neolithic era (before 2500BC) as it's been found that stone tools were made here. It was a castle in the Middle Ages and is one of only 60 left in the UK with both a ditch and bailey defensive system, according to the Chiltern Rangers. Other archaeological finds here include Roman coins, pottery and roof tiles. On a clear day, you can enjoy some really impressive views over Wycombe and West Wycombe.
